GROWTH AND INCOME INVESTMENTS

Growth and income accounts typically share the following characteristics:

Investments that pursue growth and income generally divide dollars into a mix of bonds for income and common stocks for growth.
Some growth and income investments may simply own dividend-paying common stocks, thereby pursuing both income (from dividends earned) and growth (from stocks when they grow in value).

Growth and income options are more risky than income options but less risky than growth options. They tend to appeal to investors who seek a balance between pursuing growth while trying to keep investment fluctuation at a reasonable level by also seeking investment income.
