TARGET RETIREMENT INCOME ACCOUNT

Following is a summary of information about the Target Retirement Income Account. Investors are advised to learn key data about an investment prior to making any investment decision.

Objective

The objective of this Account is to seek to current income. Capital appreciation is a secondary objective. It is invested solely in the Sentry Target Retirement Income Portfolio.

Investor Profile

The Target Retirement Income Account may be suitable for investors who are approaching or are in retirement, and seeking a high level of income and a simple way to achieve a broadly diversified holding of stocks, real estate, and fixed-income securities through the use of exchange traded funds (ETFs). Individuals must be willing and able to accept low to moderate fluctuations in unit price and have an intermediate (more than three years) investment horizon.

Investment Strategy

Sentry Target Retirement Income Portfolio invests in six different asset classes of exchange traded funds and one asset class of Treasury Inflation Protection Securities. The Portfolio is periodically rebalanced so that 80 percent of assets pursue income and 20 percent pursue growth. Over time, asset classes perform differently causing the Portfolio’s initial asset allocation to become out of balance.

The portfolio is periodically rebalanced to smooth out the highs and lows of investing in a single, volatile asset class like large cap stocks.

Investment Considerations

The Target Retirement Income Account is subject to several stock and bond market risks, any of which could cause an investor to lose money. Rising interest rates would adversely impact performance. However, given approximately 80 percent of assets pursue income, the fund’s overall risk level should be relatively low.
