• Actuarial

  • Whether monitoring rate adequacy, managing corporate insurance risks, calculating insurance rates or reserving for future uncertain claim payments, Sentry's actuaries combine refined analytical skills with business acumen to provide cutting-edge solutions to real world insurance problems. Our actuaries are exposed to a broad range of insurance products and actuarial methodologies. In addition, Sentry offers a competitive study program with generous incentives for passing actuarial exams. • Accounting

  • At Sentry, we realize that financial reporting and controls are critical to the success of our company. Our finance professionals use risk-based auditing approaches to review processes and test controls to verify that Sentry's business is run effectively and efficiently. Our professionals develop reports, analyze and communicate results and assist management in making key decisions. We also depend on these individuals to work closely with our business areas and with external auditors to assist with various reporting responsibilities.

• Claims

  • At Sentry, we make a powerful promise to our policyholders – to be there when they need us. From the first notification of a claim to its resolution, our claims employees help keep this promise. Our claims team is made up of a diverse group of individuals who enjoy working with others, believe in providing great customer service and enjoy learning. Claims professionals work with other departments within Sentry to analyze results, develop the products our policyholders need and to improve the customer's experience throughout the claim process.

• Finance

  • Because we are only as strong as our employees, we depend on Human Resources to handle employee recruitment and job placement, design and implement programs that impact employee retention and manage employee learning and development.

    In addition, our Human Resources department oversees compensation, employee relations and health services.

• Information Technology

  • Sentry Insurance is dedicated to the development of our technology staff and investment in our information systems. We are focused on improving our customer experience and information systems by investing in current state-of-the-art technologies.

    As a financially strong mutual insurance company, Sentry commits resources to employee development and the enhancement of our new information systems in Java and .Net.

• Investments

  • Our Investment interns assist in conducting research on individual companies, screening the stock universe and conducting balance sheet analysis.

• Marketing

  • Interns in each of Sentry's business area marketing departments are responsible for promotional campaigns, research, marketing material development and event planning.
