Our long-standing relationship with United Way extends to Maui.
When we became the title sponsor of the PGA TOUR’s Sentry Tournament of Champions in 2018, we saw an opportunity to expand our community connections and engage the Maui community year-round.
At Sentry®, we embrace a culture of philanthropy with an emphasis on supporting communities. We support Maui United Way because they follow a United Way methodology we trust. They understand local issues and have knowledge of local non-profit organizations working to improve opportunities in education, income, and health on Maui, among other goals. These priorities align with our own philanthropic focus.
Though we began making annual $25,000 contributions to Maui United Way in 2019, we’ve had a longtime relationship with United Way of Portage County, which serves the community where our home office is located. As of 2020, Sentry associates and the Sentry Insurance Foundation contributed more than $18.7 million to the United Way of Portage County since 2000.
“The incredible effort, talent, support, coordination, and heart that it took to make this complex nationwide campaign successful cannot be overstated,” said Linda Calnan, our 2020 United Way campaign executive sponsor. “I am in awe of and humbled by Sentry associates and leaders. I am grateful to have been part of this team and am thrilled to have our success benefit our United Way partners.”
Our United Way campaign has a local angle wherever we have an office. This provides our associates with the ability to make a local impact. As the title sponsor of the Sentry Tournament of Champions, we follow that model in our approach to making a difference on Maui.
Our United Way campaign is just one way we strengthen our community and customer relationships.
