Sentry announces new office space in Nashville to support growth of The General®

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 14, 2025) Sentry Insurance has signed a 105,000-square-foot lease in Nashville—creating a new home for The General, one of the nation’s largest non-standard auto insurers, which specializes in coverage for under-served drivers.

The 10-year lease commitment—facilitated by JLL and Colliers—supports the company’s investment in talent and long-standing commitment to Middle Tennessee, where The General has operated for more than 40 years.

“When we welcomed The General to Sentry, we committed to deepening our investment in Nashville and its history in the community,” said Pete McPartland, Sentry Chairman and CEO. “We were intentional about finding a space that could grow with our business and give employees a place where they’re excited to come together.”

The office will offer a contemporary workspace that supports Sentry’s hybrid work model. Key features include a large cafeteria, a fully equipped fitness center, an attached parking garage, ergonomic office furniture, modern IT technology, and 24/7 security service.

The General will occupy floors 5, 6, and 7 of the building, with a full interior buildout planned to begin later this year. Once complete, the new space will accommodate over 520 employees, bringing teams together in a thoughtfully designed environment.

One Century Plaza was chosen in part for its location—near both The General’s existing community footprint and Nashville International Airport, offering convenient access for visiting teams, partners, and prospective talent.

“The General has called Nashville home for decades, and this space keeps that spirit alive while supporting how our teams work today. It gives employees a flexible place to connect, while staying rooted in the community,” said Pete Anhalt, President of Personal Lines, Sentry Insurance.

Founded in 1904, Sentry is one of the largest and most financially secure mutual insurance groups in the United States. The company ranks 614 on the Fortune 1000 list and was recently rated A+ (Superior) by AM Best for 34 straight years.
