Sentry employee-led campaign raises $1.6M for United Way

The two-week campaign took place at Sentry offices across the country.

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (November 22, 2022) – Together, Sentry employees and the Sentry Insurance Foundation raised more than $1.6 million for United Way during the company’s recent United Way campaign.

The annual two-week campaign included a combination of creative in-person and virtual events. The biggest contribution came directly from employee pledging.

In Stevens Point, Wisconsin—where Sentry is headquartered—the United Way of Portage County was presented a check for $1.3 million during a virtual celebration on November 4.

During the presentation, Pete McPartland—Sentry chairman of the board, president, and CEO—recognized those who made it possible, saying, “I want to thank our Sentry employees and leadership for creating an environment where we’re able to be such a generous, enthusiastic contributor to the United Way campaign.”

Sue Wilcox, Portage County United Way executive director (pictured here), expressed her gratitude, saying, “Together, we have empowered this community to do great things. Great things for those who need it the most. We made life a little brighter for our seniors, we reduced major stressors for struggling families, and we changed the outlook of children, teen, and adults in crisis.”

Supporting the United Way is a key pillar of the company culture at Sentry, and Sentry employees continue to demonstrate their compassion and excitement each year. As a result of the campaign, donations were made to United Ways in 16 communities where Sentry has offices, including a new office in Denver. Since 2015, Sentry has contributed more than $11 million to these United Way organizations.
