Sentry Hall project moves forward at UW–Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (October 29, 2025) – The State Building Commission has approved the $98 million Sentry Hall modernization project at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point (UWSP). The project will transform the existing Collins Classroom Center into a new, state-of-the-art home for the Sentry School of Business and Economics by 2029.

This milestone follows Sentry’s $10 million gift in 2022 to name, rebrand, and grow the school and create the new facility. The modernization will expand the building by 20,000 square feet and feature active learning classrooms, collaboration spaces, and advanced technology to connect students and employers across Wisconsin.

“This is one of the most meaningful and impactful investments we’ve ever made,” said Pete McPartland, Sentry Chairman and CEO. “We’re building more than a new home for business education. We’re helping UWSP continue to attract new students and leaders from many backgrounds to Stevens Point, while strengthening the workforce that will drive the entire region forward.”

The facility will be home to the Ruth E. Salzmann Center for Women’s Leadership, which Sentry recently named in honor of our first female officer and director. It will also include new Entrepreneurship Center, aiding students in resources for building a business, including the UWSP Small Business Development Center, Center for Data Analytics, Center for Sales Excellence, and Center for Business and Economic Insight. In addition, Sentry Hall will be equipped with distance technology facilities to connect courses with branch campuses and place-bound students.
