STEVENS POINT, Wis. (April 6, 2026) – Sentry Insurance announced a complete renovation of its Stevens Point headquarters, located at 1800 North Point Drive. The project is expected to take approximately 40 months and marks the first full-scale renovation of the building since it was constructed in 1977.
“We want all of our offices to reflect a consistent Sentry experience—high-quality, approachable, and with their own sense of character,” said Pete McPartland, Sentry Chairman and CEO. “This renovation will provide an exceptional environment for our employees, creating a headquarters that enhances their experience and supports our efforts to attract top talent to Stevens Point.”
The 1.5 million-square-foot campus will undergo extensive updates, with approximately 800,000 square feet of space being renovated.
Highlights include:
Updated exterior, transforming the building’s original brutalist architecture with clean lines, expanded windows, and increased natural light to create a brighter, more inviting campus.
Modern, flexible workspaces and collaboration rooms equipped with advanced technology to support Sentry’s hybrid workforce.
Enhanced employee amenities, including an updated wellness center, redesigned cafeteria and coffee shop, and a refreshed courtyard.
Sustainability and design upgrades, with responsible recycling of materials, energy-efficient lighting and windows, and upgraded HVAC systems.
The project team includes a blend of regional and local contractors and tradespeople. Sentry selected Gilbane Building Company to serve as the renovation’s general contractor and Kahler Slater as project architect.
“Having partnered with Sentry on several projects over the years, we understand the needs and how to accommodate them within the company’s culture,” said Glenn Roby, Chief Executive Officer at Kahler Slater. “This renovation will create spaces for collaboration, respite, and flexible team growth, all while preserving the cultural touchstones that make this headquarters distinctly Sentry.”
Alicia Dupies, Vice President and Business Leader for Gilbane Building Company’s Wisconsin office, added: “The building has deep roots and a strong sense of history—and preserving that was a priority. At the same time, we’re modernizing it to better support today’s workforce. The result will be a headquarters that honors the past while positioning Sentry for the future.”
Sentry employs more than 6,000 employees nationwide, with about half working in Stevens Point—including roughly 1,600 at its headquarters.
