Maui and Stevens Point students represent art and culture through mask design contest
As part of our dedication to supporting youth, we invited Maui and Stevens Point students to showcase their artwork and submit mask designs prior to last year’s 2021 PGA TOUR Sentry Tournament of Champions.
Open to K–12 students in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, and on Maui, this contest focused on artwork that reflects the communities and cultures of either Stevens Point or Maui from the student’s point of view. Entries were evaluated based on originality, creativity, and overall appearance.
We featured the winning submissions on double-sided masks handed out during the tournament. One side represented Stevens Point and the other Maui, signifying the bond between both communities.
Please join us in congratulating the following students for their winning submissions:
- Kyler Strona, Maui
- Lillian Lepak, Stevens Point
You can view and read more about their winning designs below.
After showcasing the winners’ designs on masks at the 2021 tournament, our Sentry Insurance Foundation conducted two tree planting and donation ceremonies in May at Pu’u Kukui Watershed Preserve and Schmeeckle Reserve to honor the winners.
We also donated $3,000, each, to their respective schools to recognize their winning submissions and student participation from each school.
We’re proud of all the entries for this contest. Thank you to all the participating students. The talent, creativity, and culture shown between both communities is inspiring.
