Sentry’s group life insurance is designed to protect your employees and their families from financial disaster. Adding Sentry’s quality term life insurance coverage to your employee benefits package can help make your program one of the best.

Sentry’s Plan

  • Flat Benefits – You select benefit amounts from $10,000 to $250,000
  • Reducing Benefit – You select a schedule of amounts starting at $100,000, $200,000 or $300,000 to provide a greater benefit for employees that have more remaining years of work. Benefits decrease as employees get closer to retirement.
  • Times Salary Benefit – Benefits may be selected at one or two times an employee’s salary, up to a maximum benefit

Sentry’s Plan Includes:

Added Features at No Additional Cost:

  • Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) – Benefit is equal to basic term amount. Accidental dismemberment benefits will vary by degree of injury.
  • Seat Belt Benefit – Benefit is equal to 25% of the AD&D benefit, up to a maximum of $25,000, if death results from a vehicle accident in which the insured individual was wearing a seat belt (Not available in CA)
  • Air Bag Benefit – Benefit is equal to 10 percent of the AD&D benefit, up to a maximum of $10,000, if death results from a vehicle accident in which the insured individual was wearing a seat belt and the seat was protected by an air bag (Not available in CA)
  • Repatriation Benefit – Benefit is equal to 10 percent of the AD&D benefit, up to a maximum of $10,000, for reimbursement of expenses incurred for transporting the insured individual’s body following an accidental death that occurred more than 100 miles from the individual’s home (Not available in CA)
  • Dependent Life – Available to employers with a minimum of 10 employees (10 percent of employee basic amount for spouse and five percent for children)
  • Premium Waiver – Coverage continues without premium payments if the employee becomes permanently or totally disabled prior to age 60 for nine consecutive months. This benefit terminates on the first of the month following the employee’s 65th birthday.
  • Accelerated Death Benefit – If an employee with $10,000 or more of term life insurance is diagnosed by two doctors as having an illness which will result in death within six months, the employee can receive one-half of the basic term life amount (Not available in AL, CT, IL, KS, MA, MS, NY, OK, RI, TX, VT or WA)
  • Conversion Privilege – Group term life is convertible to an individual policy from Sentry when all or part of the employee’s insurance terminates because insurance ends, employee is no longer in a class eligible for insurance or employee enters a class which results in reduced benefits

Other Available Options:

  • Child Care Benefit – Will pay child care expenses incurred within a three-year period of the insured individual’s death. The maximum annual benefit is $5,000 for all children. (Not available in CA, KS and NY)
  • Dependent Child College Education Benefit – Will pay for dependent children’s education expenses incurred within a four-year period of the insured individual’s death. The maximum annual benefit is $10,000 for all children. (Not available in CA, KS and NY)
  • Spouse Education Benefit – Will pay for a qualified spouse’s education expenses incurred within a two-year period of the insured individual’s death. The maximum annual benefit is $10,000. (Not available in CA, KS and NY)

For Texas only: If no child care or education benefits are paid, a one-time $6,000 benefit will be paid to the beneficiary
